Maasai in Space!!


The Maasai is a group that is located in Southern Kenya. Maasai is a population of people who speaks the Maa language, and are known for having the best living space. They live near ' The African great lakes', many parks, and are well dressed people. Most of the people wear the color red, as a representation of their tribe. We currently have a Kenyan artist who had developed an interest piece of art. The artist's art piece is called the "Maasai in Space". In this art piece you see images of a female Maasai who is space. The women in on a space shuttle, yet still wearing the color red and representing her tribe. There is a second image where a women is in space wearing an astronaut suite, yet still wearing earring, and jewelry. The jewelry is a tradition that is being cared onto the image of space. This art piece is beautiful because the image can have a more important meaning to it.

National Teacher Day in Ghana

For my blog post today, I am going to be speaking about teachers in Ghana. Madam Faustina Cobson was declared to be the number one teacher for this year, 2017. This teacher, teaches in Richard Acquaye Memorial School, which is located in a ‘suburbs of the capital, Acca. For all the hard work, time, and dedication into her students, she is rewarded with 50,000 cedis, which is approximately 11,000 dollars. This teacher is also guaranteed a life insurance package, and a three bedroom house. Madam and many other teacher, have been asking their government to have a day to celebrate the effort of teachers. But after some time, this dream was accomplished to Madam, because now we celebrate the 23rd National teachers day. Teachers are recognized for their hard work, that they are receiving, life changing gifts. Plaque in Madagascar

For todays blog post I will be speaking about the Plague in Madagascar. Several years back in Europe there was a disease called the ‘Bubonic Plague’, where many people were killed. This plague comes from animals like rats, and fleas, which means it is easy to catch. Although we have found a cure for this infection, this disease is still found in the streets of Africa. Africa is the most common country that still has a plaque. About 10% of the people catch this disease which means that not a lot of people in get it, but there is still the risk of catching it. This plague is also found contaminated water, which is good sanitation is necessary. Also, because their is still the risk of catching it, it is best to get the shot and prevent it.
