For my first post ever I decided talk about women in Africa. The article I focused is titled ' Namibia's Himba people caught between traditions and modernity '. This article speaks about ways women color there skin by mixing animal fat, ash, and ground ochre. Ochre is a stone found locally. Him people are covered in this red color from head to toe, including their hair. Women cover themselves with this dye as a form of ritual. This rituals helps them look more beautiful, and men find appealing In the image above you can see women using the ashes to cover their body. In their village it is normal to look this way, but outside of the village most people give them strange looks. This feature was found I'm Himba years ago. Women wake up early to apply their red coat. Applying this coat is a routine women keep up with. The red coat has become a form of living and is a tradition in the Himba tribe. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-40247310
